The age old skills and techniques of textile weaving are taught in the well-equipped, atmospheric surroundings of the weaving department, on the fourth floor of the Mill. An initial emphasis on acquiring skills and techniques quickly moves on to employing these skills in the creation of designs for individual one-off pieces. During the course students will produce design work in the form of ideas notebooks, design presentation sheets, colour studies and yarn card wrappings. They will also create a range of craft works to include rugs, wall hangings, tapestries and lengths of fabric.
